MAN CAUGHT AFTER 24 YEARS ON THE RUN

'Most wanted' fugitive caught in Cancun
One of the U.S. Marshals Service's 15 most wanted fugitives has been captured in the Mexican beach town of Cancun after 24 years on the run.
Vincent Legrend Walters, 45, was apprehended early Friday morning and is being held on an extradition request.
Walters, who faces murder, drugs and weapons charges, hid in plain sight and reportedly boasted he was a wanted fugitive, according to the U.S. Marshals Office.
Walters used the alias Oscar Rivera and worked at Cancun International Airport, officials said.
Walters has been on the run since 1988 after he allegedly purchased $20,000 worth of chemicals from undercover agents to make methamphetamine and negotiated an additional $200,000 deal with them, the U.S. Marshals Service said.

    The Story Behind The Recipe

Story In the late 1940’s, Senior Onion, as we used to call him, would travel miles to our local market to sell his onions. He swore that the only sure way of keeping colds and flue at bay was a healthy serving of his famous French Onion Soup on a daily basis. During the war onions were just about the only vegetable we could get our hands on, so of course we would buy as many as we could afford – authentic colds and flue remedy or not! This recipe is dedicated to Senior Onion.

AUTHORITIES DISCOVER 2 SOPHISTICATED BORDER DRUG TUNNELS IN SOUTHWEST ARIZ, CALIFORNIA

PHOENIX - Two drug-smuggling tunnels outfitted with lighting and ventilation systems were discovered along the U.S.-Mexico border, the latest signs that cartels are building sophisticated passages to escape heightened surveillance on land.
Both tunnels were at least 150 yards long. One began under a bathroom sink inside a warehouse in Tijuana but was unfinished and didn't cross the border into San Diego. The Mexican army found the tunnel Wednesday.

Police have discovered a "major cross-border drug tunnel" running to California from Mexico, and seized 14 tons of marijuana, authorities said Wednesday. The tunnel links warehouses in an industrial park south of San Diego and the Mexican border city of Tijuana, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency said in a news release.
